Use EAP To Cope With Traumatic Incidents

If you are an employee and experience an operational traumatic event, then you must be debriefed by an EAP counselor to prevent or minimize psychological injury.

Employees exposed to repeated traumatic events are at risk of developing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

A traumatic event may be:

dia_bluve_18.gif A vehicular or other serious accident.

dia_bluve_19.gif The witnessing of a death or serious injury.

dia_bluve_20.gif An emotionally charged event that is considered unusual.

Debriefings are conducted by licensed EAP counselors with debriefing experience.  To schedule a debriefing, the supervisor of the affected employee or the employee must call the EAP.
